Hi students! I am so excited to offer virtual Zoom classes for 2021! Before purchasing a class PLEASE read the information below so you know what to expect from the class as well as what is expected of you the student. We want them to run as smoothly as possible!
Feel free to email me with any additional questions - jessica@sewmanycreationsny.com
Payment is due upon purchase of class and is non-refundable. If the class is cancelled by SMC for any reason we will reschedule.
Each class is offered on a weekday as well as a weekend to cater to all our student's schedules. Please double check date and time selection before purchase. All times listed are EST (I am NY based)
Students should login to Zoom at listed start time (which is 15 minutes before class will actually begin) to ask any technology questions, setup questions, etc. so that we can start our class on time, ready to sew! For example if a class is listed to begin at 10:45 we will begin sewing at 11. The first 15 minutes are reserved for setup like an in person class would allow.
Prep work is required. Pattern purchase is required. You will need to finish all cutting, fusing and some minor steps ahead of time such as making handles or cutting templates. You are welcome to email me with any questions ahead of time. Please read each class description. If you are not prepared we will continue on with the class in fairness to other students.
Some options have been eliminated for class to reduce any confusion and keep class within timeframe. For example, the Alice Crossbody class will cover the large size with slide set for handle only (the small size and D ring option will not be covered).
Classes should be treated like an in person class - be kind and thoughtful towards other students & teacher, come prepared, make one project at a time, etc. If you arrive late we will not hold up the class for you in fairness to other students.
Zoom app must be downloaded before class. I suggest using a tablet or laptop if possible, rather than a phone, for easier visibility. Please make sure your user name is your actual name so I know who's arrived for class.
You may not finish the project in class. We will do our absolute best to complete as much as possible!
Video of classes will be available for students for one week after completion of class. PLEASE do not share videos with friends and family that have not paid for class. This is a special perk for paying students only.
A half hour lunch break is factored in to all classes 5+ hours.
Open sew days are for working on any SMC patterns. You do not have to be enrolled in another class. Open sew is for SMC patterns only and you are not required to stay for the entire 3 hours.
Kits are available but are not required. Base kits are listed at bottom of page. Other kits are available on KITS page.
